My PhD project is entitled "Molecular Epidemiology of Arcobacter in Animals". I am using molecular techniques to study the prevalence, transmission and diversity of Arcobacter species in farm and wildlife animals.
Arcobacter is a potential emerging human foodborne pathogen that has been identified in a number of domestic and wildlife animals. Through this project, I aim to identify any possible seasonal trends in Arcobacter prevalence in Cattle, and observe possible transmission routes between animals.
I gained a first class honours degree in Human Biology and Infectious Diseases from the University of Salford, and an MSc in Molecular Parasitology and Vector Biology from Salford, Keele and Manchester Universities.
