An infection or disease present at a fairly constant incidence and prevalence.  Some people refer to such conditions in non-human animals as being enzootic, but beyond preserving the distinctiveness of medical science this term serves little purpose.  Note, though, that ecologists use the term endemic to refer to a species (or other taxon) found at a particular place and nowhere else.  See also epidemic and Ro/Rp.
